Architectural support issues for fuzzy databases

摘要：
In this paper, approaches to support general purpose fuzzy databases are considered. First, issues relative to the need for fuzzy databases are reviewed. This gives the perspective that hardware support is necessary to provide the performance needed for commercial systems. In particular, the concepts of database machines and the Bellcore Datacycle system is discussed. Then, preliminary steps to design of a backend processor for a similarity based fuzzy database is described.
