摘要
Despite the high prevalence and relevance of boredom in school, there is a lack of corresponding research. This Study investigated boredom in mathematics with German elementary school children (grade 4; N = 498). The reliability and the factorial validity of the scale to assess boredom in mathematics were satisfactory. Boredom in mathematics correlated negatively with self-concept in mathematics (r = -.54), interest in mathematics (r = -.77), achievement in mathematics (as measured by an achievement test and by grades; r >= -.21), and intelligence. The discussion points out educational implications.
