摘要
This paper discusses efficient mobile television (TV) broadcast over digital video broadcasting terrestrial (DVB-T) network based on the technical specifications and performance of system in various channel conditions. The solution is developed and evaluated in two stages, simulation and experimental. We simulated the DVB-T transmitter, channel, and receiver to analyze bit error rate (BER) and video quality for different channel conditions (BER) and different modulation techniques i.e. QPSK, 16-QAM, and 64-QAM. Experimentally, DVB-T transmitter and receiver are implemented using software defined radio (SDR) and a commercial DVB-T receiver. We have proposed the system architecture for adaptive broadcast system using DVB-T standard for broadcasting multimedia content and Wi-Fi for feedback link from all receivers to base station. A modulation parameter selection algorithm is also proposed in this work which can be used to serve all the users which are connected to the base station. This algorithm suggest that BS first receives feedback data from all the receivers and finds out the most robust modulation parameter so that all the users can receive the broadcast content. Finally, we highlight the advantage of adaptive modulation technique over fix modulation technique. Video quality matrix is compared for transmitted video and received video for different modulation techniques by varying the distance between transmitter and receiver to compare the performance of adaptive and non-adaptive broadcasting system and useful data rate vs. SNR graph is plotted and discussed for adaptive modulation system and fix modulation system.
