摘要
Based on data from an international study on religious attitudes (International Social Survey Programme, 1998), this article gives a rapid panorama of religion in Europe. It then shows how the integration of a religious system (on a scale extending from regular churchgoers to those without religion) has strong effects on ethical and political attitudes (sexual permissiveness, roles of men and women in society today, abortion, civic honesty, trust in institutions, political tendencies). Whatever the European country being examined, catholic or protestant integration is conveyed by more traditional, more conformist attitudes, situated further right wing, without there being a precise difference between catholics and protestants who are culturally quite close to each other today.
