This article Uses examples from the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the hurricane disasters of Katrina and Rita to illustrate the impact of crisis in the lives of children and adolescents. The author reviews children's responses to loss and crisis. Therapeutic approaches what facilitate integration of crisis and loss are Provided. including illustrations or self-care, comfort strategies, and developmental, traditional. and nontraditional methods.
