Cytokines in aqueous humour. Clinical study

The aqueous humour levels of following spectrum of cytokines spectrum were measured. MIP-1 alpha, IL-1 beta, IL-2, IL-4, IL-6, TGF-beta, RANTES and IFN gamma. Except for interleukin IL-6 the levels of measured cytokines were seen to be below the level of routine measurement. The levels of IL-6 in the aqueous humour varied greatly from 3.67 pg/ml to 1348 pg/ml. No considerable statistical differences were found between the groups of eyes with normal and damaged hematoocular barriers respectively.
