摘要：
This paper gives an overview of a Product Information Management System(PIMS) for Electromechanical products. To reduce the design costs and to manufacture high-quality products, it is well known that concurrent engineering (CE) is a very efficient approach. To realize CE, three-dimensional (3D) CAD system and engineering database system are the essential component. We try to manage all information related to product life-cycle by integrating the commercial product data management system(PDM) and the World-Wide-Web(Web) server. We start to use the PIMS partially in the practical product development.
