Abandoning : first step of adopting

Abandoning, firststep of adopting. - When violence appears in adopting families, we can assume that those families are still affected by the abandonment process. It takes hold of the family relationships and endangers the adoption process. In our clinic, we then let the "invisible" intruders in: they are the biological parents, the adopted child if he had stayed with his biological parents (therefore if he hadn't been abandoned) and/or the adopted child if he was his adoptive parents biological child. Working on exploring those relationships with those invisible protagonists will allow us to elaborate the cross identities and cross ambivalences. This will then allow the adoption process to take place more peacefully.
