An ultra-wideband dual, stacked, U-slot microstrip antenna

摘要
A common technique to improve the impedance bandwidth of microstrip antenna is the use of electromagnetically coupled stacked patches. In this paper, a novel topology of an ultra-wideband, dual, stacked, U-slot patch antenna is proposed. The antenna is simulated using commercially available CAD tool IE3D. The results of the performance simulation of the antenna are included here. The proposed antenna topology exhibits a 2:1 VSWR bandwidth of 65% and a peak gain of 9.4 dBi.
