Empirical Analysis on the Relationship between Resident Consumption and Import and Export Trade in China

The empirical study on the impact of import and export trade on China resident consumption shows that the import and export trade is the monomial cause of the change in China resident consumption level, and the impact of changes in import and export trade on resident consumption has a lag time of 1-2 years, in the longer period, the change of resident consumption level depends on the habitual consumption level. In addition, import is the reason of export growth. It shows that China import trade services export trade. Therefore, it is significant for the resolution of employment and the expansion of domestic demand to increase export of labor-intensive industries. Moreover, the Government guide and control of the import amount and structure will be conducive to rational development of upgrading domestic resident consumption structure and industrial structure.
