Burn injuries to the hand can result in significant impairment of both cosmesis and function. The devastating effects of upper extremity burns are compounded by the difficulties of treating these injuries. With recent advances in dressing wound care and surgical techniques, it is possible to repair all but the most devastating burn injuries, resulting in both good function and appearance. This article describes some of the options that are available.
