摘要
The use case model is one of the user-centric core models in software systems development that assist in bridging the gap between business and systems. It presents to stakeholders what the system should do from users' perspectives. Stakeholders depend on it for planning, deriving requirements, elaboration in design and even what could go wrong in the system. However, the rationale behind each use case is missing. This missing piece of information is critical to indicate the completeness of use cases regarding addressing business goal. The paper presents a method for designing a goal-based use case model in order to fill this gap using role-oriented business process model. The work is evaluated using a real life case study from cancer care domain in Jordan. The work contributes to enriching the current use case model presentation and reducing the gap between business and systems through the integration of business goals.
