Land Banking in Turkey in the European Union Accession Process

Several country use Land Banking system to protect agricultural lands an to increase agricultural production. One of the most important part of the organizational structure of European Union's common agricultural policies' which is integrated with environmental protection goals, are land banks. Land Banking which is seen successful examples at countries that lead agricultural production in European Union such as France, Netherland and Spain, also been disscussed in Turkey for a long time. In this article, Land Banks which is seen in countries counts above are analyzed from the point of organizational structures, operation, obligations and authority and legal and organizational basis of Land Banking in Turkey.
