摘要
Fasciolosis is one of the diseases of animals reported from 172 countries of the world (FAO, 1995), chiefly caused by Fasciola gigantica, leading to heavy morbidity and mortality due to damaged liver. Commonly the diagnosis of fasciolosis is based on detection of eggs in faeces, which is shed 13-14 weeks after infection (Hillyer and De-Galanes, 1991), while maximum losses occur at middle quarter of pre-patent period. So diagnosis at this stage is imperative to prevent disease propagation. Large numbers of serological methods for diagnosis are being developed and screened with variable success for planning effective control. Present study intended to compare efficacy of ELISA and DOT-ELISA as screening test for fasciolosis by detecting circulatory antigen.
