New photocatalyts based on CaBiVMO8 (where M = W and Mo) oxides were prepared by a solid-state method. The obtained CaBiVMO8 powders were characterized by the XRD, UV-vis absorption spectra and BET method. The prepared CaBiVMO8 materials show high photocatalytic activities for O-2 evolution and for organic compounds degradation. (c) 2006 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
