摘要：
Children and adolescents whose experienced gender differs from their aligned sex at birth and who suffer from gender incongruence are considerably more visible in public life and in the medical care system than they were a few years ago. As a result of ethical, legal, therapeutic and not least medical challenges, guidelines and best-practice models have been developed. This short narrative review came about during a presentation as part of the third Austrian Annual Conference for Paediatric Psychosomatics on 4 October 2019 in Vienna. In addition to definition of terms and possibilities for classification, data on prevalence are discussed. Finally, available international and Austrian treatment guidelines are reviewed.
