摘要：
Guangdong is an area with many kinds of Chinese dialects, and it's one of the earliest areas to explore the geographical linguistics of China's Mainland. This paper reviews the history of Chinese geographical linguistics, especially the theory and practice in Guangdong geographical linguistics, and expounds the importance of developing the Lingnan geographic information system based on GIS and the basic conception of this system.
