摘要
An accurate solution for the natural frequencies of vibration of a hollow body of revolution was discussed by using theory of elasticity. A semi-analytical approach was adopted in which solutions were obtained for specified circumferential harmonic nodes of vibration. The differential quadrature method (DQM) with regards to boundary conditions was also used to obtained accurate values for the natural frequencies. The results show that the solution has an accuracy approaching that of 'series solutions', but has greater flexibility with respect to boundary conditions.
