In acidic medium that NO2- can oxidize [Fe(CN)(6)](4-) to [Fe(CN)(6)](3-) based on the uric-[Fe(CN)(6)](3-)-luminol chemiluminescence system, the new method for the determination of nitrite was developed. The effect of the concentration of reactionsubstances, acidity, interfering ions etc. on the analytical results was studied. Under optimal conditions, the linear range for the determination of NO2- was 1.0x10(-9)similar to1.0x10(-5) g/mL and the detection limit was 5.0x10(-11) g/mL, the relative standard deviation for the determination of samples (n=11) was 1.8%similar to3.2%. The method is simple, convenience, sensitive and selective. The recovery was between 95.7%similar to105.8%. It was applied to determination of trace nitrite in water and food samples with satisfactory results.
