摘要
This paper studies English majors' writing autonomy by undertaking self-assessment. Two research questions are presented: (1) Does self-assessment benefit to improve English writing autonomy? (2) In what ways are writing autonomy affected by practicing self-assessment? Via classroom observation, it reveals that self-assessment contributes to helping students develop their writing autonomy, in terms of the ability of monitoring writing process, evaluating drafts, clarifying writing goals and strategies.
