The dielectric properties of aqueous solutions of ammonium halides

摘要
The concentration dependences of the real epsilon' and imaginary epsilon" permittivity components were measured at a 9.1 GHz frequency for aqueous solutions of ammonium halides in a wide concentration range (from infinite dilution to solution saturation). The epsilon'(c) and epsilon"(c) dependences for ammonium fluoride were unique in the series of NH(4)Hal solutions because of nondestructive embedding of the NH4+ and F- ions into the framework of water. In the region of infinite dilution, the mechanism of the destructive action of anions on the framework of water was found to be common to Cl-, Br-, and I-. The behavior of the epsilon'(c) and epsilon"(c) dependences of aqueous solutions of ammonium halides lends support to the concept of the proton-activation nature of dielectric polarization, which is characteristic of systems with H-bonds.
