Observation of green upconversion fluorescence in Er3+ doped Nb2O5 prepared by the sol-gel method

摘要
In a crystallised sample of Er3+ doped Nb2O5 prepared by the sol-gel method, green upconversion fluorescence was observed around 544 nm under 805 nm excitation (I-4(15/2)-->I-4(9/2)). Electron spin resonance (ESR) spectra for Er3+ in gels were also measured at 4.2 K. The results were briefly discussed on the basis of dispersion of Er3+ ions in the Nb2O5 gel.
