Performance analysis of a hybrid photovoltaic-thermal water heating system of 100 L capacity installed at Calicut (11 degrees 15 N, 75 degrees 46 ' E) is presented in this paper. The testing of the system has been carried out during January and February 2012. The collector efficiency characteristics have been obtained under different operating conditions. Simulation study of the system is also undertaken for the performance analysis. There is a reasonably good agreement between the experimental and simulation results. Performance assessment of the system under solar resource uncertainty is illustrated using Monte Carlo simulation approach. Based on the random simulations, it has been observed that the expected annual solar fraction of the system is 0.7621.
