A Framework of Software Reusing Engineering Management

摘要
As the cost of software development rises, software reuse has been overly successful in controlling the time and expenses to date. However, it is difficult to catch the essential of reusing management. In fact, there are a lot of factors and approaches must be considered in software reuse process, so it is important to strengthen key point management in software reusing. In order to manage software reusing process effectively, this paper provides a framework of software reusing engineering management. The framework shows us how to choose types of reuse process and what to do in reuse process management. This paper will discuss four types of software reusing, and show how to analyze reusing feasibility. Then, different types will be related to different reusing management processes and key points. Besides, this paper will also illustrate a case study. The case indicates that the framework could take advantage of reusing factors and approaches together, and give reasonable processes in each type of software reusing engineering management. In addition, key point management plays a crucial role in software reusing. As a summary, the advantages of this framework and the future research will be discussed.
