This essay presents a critical analysis of the problem of the prophetic in philosophy from a consideration of Hans Jonas's moral reflection in Das Prinzip Verantwortung (1979). Jonah demonstrates that he followed, very closely, deliberately or casually, a specific practical wisdom of Kant, namely: the need to make philosophy a prophetic instrument. The essay, therefore, performs a kind of retrospective assessment of the book's fortune in view of its expected results, which will also allow, in a secondary way, a new approximation of the ethics of responsibility with the philosophy of history and Kant's moral reflection, as well how it will also allow an assessment of how much the prophetic is worth to philosophy.
