Determination of Factors Affecting Sunflower Oil Consumption; the Case of Corum Province

摘要
The share of sunflower oil in edible vegetable oils is approximately 70% in Turkey. The aim of this study was to determine the amount of sunflower oil consumption per capita and the factors affecting sunflower oil consumption in Corum province. In order to achieve this aim, a survey was conducted with 391 consumers in the study area. The data obtained from the survey was analyzed via Chi square analysis method to determine whether there was a significant difference between per capita sunflower oil consumption and the variables. Based on the results, average sunflower oil consumption per capita was calculated as 12.08 liters/year. The chi-square analysis indicated that there was also a significant difference between the amount of sunflower oil consumption and gender, education, attention to brand, price follow-up, number of households and income.
