In this issue of Biology of Blood and Marrow Transplantation, Askar et al. evaluate the association of MHC class I chain-related gene A (MICA) polymorphisms with the development of graft-versus host-disease (GVHD) after unrelated donor hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HCT) [1]. Prior reports have provided conflicting results, leaving the effect of MICA donor-recipient mismatch in HCT unanswered. (C) 2017 American Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation.
