A novel method for the promotion of polymer adhesion to aluminum foil

摘要：
Good adhesion of polyethylene to aluminum foil can be difficult to obtain without the use of corona treatment or liquid primers. This is especially evident when a roll of laminated paper to aluminum foil is allowed to sit fora period of time prior to the extrusion coating operation. Mechanically altering the foil surface just prior to the coating nip section results in a substantial improvement in coating adhesion values.
