Effect of domain size on the magneto-elastic damping in amorphous ferromagnetic metals

摘要
We show that the damping of longitudinal mechanical oscillations in soft magnetic amorphous ribbons can be significantly reduced by domain refinement. The latter is realized by an out-of-plane anisotropy induced by magnetic field annealing. The phenomena is interpreted in terms of micro eddy currents associated with the magnetization process within a domain.
