Mobile Vision as Assistive Technology for the Blind: An Experimental Study

摘要
Mobile computer vision is often advocated as a promising technology to support blind people in their daily activities. However, there is as yet very little experience with mobile vision systems operated by blind users. This contribution provides an experimental analysis of a sign-based wayfinding system that uses a camera cell phone to detect specific color markers. The results of our experiments may be used to inform the design of technology that facilitates environment exploration without sight(1).
