摘要
We know how the situation in the trenches during the First World War was described, on the one hand in publications of propaganda institutions and on the other hand in forces' letters. It is not clear, however, how this situation was processed in war poetry-whether the emotionless, steadfast >> front fighter type << created by military discourse can be found here, which literary traditions dominated and to what extent expressionist authors diverged from the bulk of authors of war poems (with or without experience on the front). A glance at poetry of the trenches written during the Period Between the Wars and the poetry of Ernst Jandl enhances the picture.
