Taxonomic studies of Alternaria from China - VII. New species and new records on Gramineae, Iridiaceae, and Liliaceae

4 new species, 1 new variety and 2 new records to China in the genus Alternaria are reported in this paper. They are: A. brevispora T. Y. Zhang, sp. nov, and A. setariae T. Y. Zhang, sp. nov. on Gramineae; A. eleuthrines T. Y. Zhang, sp. nov. on Iridiaceae; A. obpyriformis T. Y. Zhang, sp. nov., A. tenuissima (Fr.) Wiltsh. Var. alliicola T. Y. Zhang v. nov., A. palandui Ayyangar, new rec., and A. asphodeli Olga Savulescu, new rec. on Liliaceae. Latin diagnoses and illustrations of the new species are provided. The type specimens of new species are diposited in HSAUP and Mycological Herbarium of Northwestern Agricultural University (HMUABO), respectively.
