This study presents NVC (Nonviolent Communication) and assertiveness as tools to improve communication processes and ensure a healthy working environment. The main objective was to assess whether communication failures emotionally harm professionals and whether the use of a more friendly approach can reduce situations of verbal violence experienced within companies; as well as determining whether there is such concern on the part of companies to encourage NVC and assertiveness to improve communication processes. The quantitative method was used to collect information and opinions about the frequency of this issue in the corporate environment, about the initiative of the organizations in encouraging the development of these skills and verify the familiarity of the respondents with the NVC. The results showed that the majority of those affected by verbal violence are female audiences and even facing this problem a high percentage of respondents feel satisfied with the communication of their companies and consider themselves to be part of a healthy environment. It is concluded that recognition of the NVC method can have a significant impact on social coexistence, thus reducing the number of violence and conflicts, as there is an initiative by people to use this method.
