Development and challenges of teaching law and economics online

With the rise of online education as part of the college curriculum, numerous business and law schools have started offering courses online. The COVID-19 pandemic will also be a catalyst for more institutions of higher learning offering online or hybrid courses as part of their menu of choices. While there is a growing literature on teaching online, there is no information on the challenges that come with teaching an undergraduate online law and economics course. This paper deals with the development and challenges of teaching an online law and economics course and makes brief comparisons to a face-to-face course. The paper reflects on what was done in a recent online course with a focus on online discussions and reflects on what could be done in the future.
