Avascular necrosis of the capitate is a rare disorder of unknown etiology that causes wrist pain and limitation of function. We present a case of a 15-year-old boy successfully treated with vascularized pedicled bone graft from the dorsal aspect of the distal radius. (J Hand Surg 2009;34A:1303-1307.
