Michel Foucault, family and psychiatric power (history of a rectification)

During the first halt of the seventies, Michel Foucault modified in some aspects his thought, passing from his << archaeological >> phase to this << genealogical >> phase. As a consequence of this transformation, he denied that the family was (as he defended in the sixties) an appropriate model to explain the organization of the early psychiatric institutions. In this essay, we'll study the relationships between this change of view and the foucauldian critic of the Althusser's definition for the term << ideology >>.
