Natural convective circulation in a rotating porous chamber with an element of variable volumetric heat generation has been investigated numerically. Brinkman model has been employed for porous medium. Governing equations written using non-dimensional parameters have been worked out by the finite difference technique. The computational technique has been verified by comparison with results of other researchers obtained from experiments and theoretical analysis. The results have been examined for various values of Taylor number, porous layer thickness, and volumetric heat generation frequency. The streamlines and isotherms have been presented for one complete revolution of the cavity and described in detail. The results demonstrate the energy transport enhancement for moderate values of angular velocity and high values of porous layer thickness.
