摘要
Home area networks can give utility customers unprecedented information about and control over their personal energy usage. Southern California Edison is rolling out programs to enable its customers to take full advantage of home area networks. The company conducted a study of 11 homes to determine the communication network issues causing the largest barriers to widespread adoption of home area networks. The study team found that pre-existing Wi-Fi interference in homes could cause problems on a small scale and there is a likelihood that interference will increase as newer Wi-Fi technologies are rolled out.
