Training for supporting new information services

Hungarian libraries, like other libraries in Central and Eastern-European countries, have to face many challenges. On the one hand there are technological advances, the growth in information technology, computerisation, co-operating and networking, which bring new problems and new opportunities. On the other hand there are changes in society arising from the fall of the dictatorial ''regimes of the past'' These result in new demands being placed on libraries. Libraries and librarians need to develop in order to meet these new demand and to keep pace with the new information society.
