Decision Support System for Housing Land Selection Using Analytical Hierarchy Process and Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution Methods

With the increasing housing needs due to population growth increasing a limitation on the availability of land for housing companies. The success of a housing company can be seen from several factors one of which is the housing land location selection. The choice of location is one of the decisions made with care in order to compete with other housing companies. Sometimes the housing companies have difficulties to determine the exact location for their businesses due to the advantages and disadvantages of the land location. The selection of housing sites must be in accordance with some criteria, but each housing company have different criteria. Some of the common criteria are land price, number of public facilities, and land condition. To facilitate and provide the efficiency of time and help Developers of housing in the choice of residential location, we build a Decision Support System (DSS) using AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) and TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) method. The combined methods give a recommendation which land location should be selected among some other locations.
