摘要
This article concentrates on the inspiration of jazz in the 192os Czech culture, especially its infiltration into Czech prose. The invasion of jazz music into the cultural context of young Czechoslovakia is described at the very beginning of this article. Then the inspiration of jazz music is revealed in specific stories written by Karel Schulz. Jazz music is celebrated as a synonym of the contemporary, new world full of intensive life, energy and the latest impulses. The qualities of jazz music denied all the old, static, moral and aesthetic values. In conclusion, the author points to the fact that jazz music became the symbol of a new revolutionary art, identified with the left-wing avant-garde, and it has brought a new view of reality, methods and functions of art.
