Results of an empirical investigation on the strategic importance of intelligent information systems in Banking

The use of information and communication systems plays an important role for the competitiveness in banking. Therefore it is important for banks to identify and use key technologies timely. In this paper the authors present the results of an empirical investigation on the strategic importance of intelligent information systems in banking. Here, the term ''intelligent information systems'' includes knowledge-based systems and neural networks. It turns our that the strategic potential of intelligent information systems today is evaluated sceptically.
