摘要：
The paper aims to identify similarities and differences in the way rural communities are represented in American and Romanian regional newspapers. The articles analyzed cover four areas - the native village, local festivals, education, and economy. The analysis is based on several levels - the lexical choices made by the journalists, dialogism, temporal and spatial points of view, type of rhetoric, and values upheld.
