摘要：

We present an element-by-element analysis of the surface composition of beta Pic (A5 V) based on high-resolution broad-band optical spectra. The abundances (relative to H) of C, Ca, Ti, Cr, Fe, Sr, and Ba are solar. Obviously beta Pic does not show the 'lambda-Boo phenomenon'-the metal deficiency of certain cool A-type stars attributed to accreting circumstellar matter.
