A Novel, Dual-band, Miniaturized Antenna with Fractal-curve Patch and TSV-CPW Feeder

摘要
The miniaturization of antenna is critical to the performance of RF-SiP. This paper presents the design and fabrication of a novel, miniaturized antenna that uses a fractal structure. The antenna has two resonate frequencies at 24GHz and 35GHz, respectively. Unlike a rectangular patch antenna, the patch of the proposed antenna is shaped similarly to a Peano curve and uses a Through Silicon Via-Coplanar Waveguide (TSV-CPW) as a feeder. The area of the Peano-curve patch is the smallest for a given perimeter. The simulation results describing the return loss, and the dual-band performance can be realized by loading this type of fractal structure. Finally, the proposed antenna may be applicable in multi-chip packaging and related integrated passive modules.
