Fast Algorithm for Image Reconstruction in Adaptive Electrical Capacitance Tomography

摘要
We describe a fast method for high-resolution electrical capacitance tomography (ECT) of objects and fluid flow in annular regions close to sensing electrodes. Image reconstruction in conventional ECT is performed in the entire sensing domain using the full set of available measurements. Recent developments in adaptive electrical capacitance tomography (AECT) open up the possibility of electronic scanning and selective domain reconstruction. The method proposed here exploits the Laplacian nature of the electrostatic field in ECT/AECT, the flexibility of AECT in reconfiguring the capacitance electrodes, and the sparsity of the measurement in peripheral regions of the imaging domain to reconstruct the permittivity near the sensing electrodes with high resolution and by relying only on a subset of measurements.
