摘要：

The article touches the Polish-German language relations from 16th to 18th Century in Gdansk and the surrounding area. This territory was inhabited by the Slavic and German population. Those people were mostly bilingual or polyglotic. When Gdansk was joined to Poland it became necessary to learn German. That is why the schools started to teach Polish and German language as well.
