摘要
The present review of the biomarker tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase 5b (TRACP5b) is published in the series tumor markers of the Zentralblatt fur Arbeitsmedizin, Arbeitsschutz und Ergonomie, which deals with the increasing use of the determination of specific markers in so-called manager preventive and check-up examinations. In principle, TRACP5b is not suitable for such precautionary measures, but is a marker for the treatment, progression and recurrence control of osteoporosis. Here, this shows a high sensitivity and specificity but the marker should not be used as a screening marker for early diagnosis.
