Synthesis and characterization of mixed ligand complexes of molybdenum(VI)

摘要
The mixed ligand complexes of molybdenum(VI) of the type, [MoO2(acac)(2)L] where L = morpholinomethyl urea (MMU), morpholinomethyl thiourea (MMTU), piperidinomethyl urea (PMU), piperidinomethyl thiourea (PMTU), pyrrolidinomethyl urea (PyMU) and pyrrolidinomethyl thiourea (PyMTU) have been prepared by the reaction of [MoO2(acac)(2)] with corresponding ligands in 1 : 1 molar ratio. The complexes have been characterized by various physicochemical techniques such as elemental analysis, molar conductance, IR, electronic spectra, cyclic voltammetry in addition to TGA/DTA studies. Morpholinomethyl urea and related ligands behave as monodentate in the complexes coordinating to molybdenum through carbonyl oxygen or thiocarbonyl sulfur.
