Experimental determination of the filling coefficient for an aspirated spark-ignition engine

摘要
This study aims at determining, by experiment, the filling coefficient of a sparkignition, normal aspirated engine, with carburettor. For this purpose, a pilot plant was designed for measuring the pressure at various points on the route, simulating a stationary air flow regime by means of a vacuum pump. Measurements were made for various lifting heights of the intake valve and various opening positions of the throttle body, thus highlighting how their influence on the pressure loss and on the filling coefficient.
